Mahout Lifestyle announced a competition to commission two brand new designs for their rug collection. My mood-board and design were selected from over 50 entries and made into a finished textile.

2015

Inspiration was taken from the vibrancy of Indian weddings, as well as the shapes and colours of spring. The competition was judged by representatives from Mahout Lifestyle, Homes & Gardens Magazine and KLC Interior Design school.

At the KLC in Chelsea, selecting the thread colours for the final product.

The finished rug on display at Decorex - the interior show in London.

“I was struck with the overall professionalism of the entries, as well as the impressive and imaginative mood boards. The winning designs featured patterns that were of-the-moment, as well as colours that are right on trend.”
Ali Brown, Decorating Editor, Homes & Gardens Magazine

“The winners were chosen for their considered designs, beautiful concepts and subtle tones, these simple differences set them aside from the other entries. It was wonderful to see the emotional journey each designer had taken throughout the process.”
Diana McKnight, Director of Studies, KLC
